Channels

We don't have a single storefront. Retail happens organically across our spaces with dynamic, experimental inventory. The spaces flow together. Someone browsing plants might leave with a handmade ceramic planter from the makerspace, a locally-printed care guide, and a vintage botany book. Someone looking for a gift might combine a terrarium with a hand-bound journal and artisan pen.

  • Nursery/Garden: Plants and propagation, plant arrangements, terrariums, handmade planters, composting supplies, gardening accessories etc.
  • Library/Bookstore: Books and magazines, zines and small-batch publications, maps and collectibles, desk stationary, reading accessories etc.
  • Hackerspace: Electronics kits and DIY components, wood projects and laser-cut items, maker tools, upcycled items, prototype devices etc.
  • Online: Digital storefront(s) spanning all our work, curated selection from all categories, collaborations with other makers, extended reach beyond physical spaces etc.
  • Pop-up: Occasional physical events, yard sales and special showings when we have interesting inventory to move, seasonal markets etc.

Inventory

For us, retail is a natural extension of our work, not a separate commercial venture bolted on.

We stock things we want to see more of in the world. Items that carry stories, support makers, solve problems, or simply bring joy. The inventory has the serendipity of a thrift shop, but everything reflects our values around sustainability, local connection, and thoughtful making. If we can make it ourselves, we do. If we can source it locally from makers, we prioritize that. If we need to retail it from elsewhere, we choose carefully based on quality, usefulness, and alignment with our values. We're not trying to stock everything, just things we'd genuinely recommend.

Additionally we also accept donations/pawn star of used items to our inventory. Have a toy that you kid no longer uses? we'll take that! We have a junkyard which is basically a library of items which can be upcycled!

We also aim to keep inventory of sources for our DIY needs. Eg. findparts, onlyscrewes

Our inventory consists of things we make/propagate or things we source(following are some examples):

  • Make/Propagate: propagated plants, planters, garden accessories, plant arrangements, terrariums, growing kits etc. wood projects, electronics/diy kits we've designed, board games, toys, small furniture, and prototypes that graduate from our workbenches. Collaborations with community makers produce co-created items that blend our capabilities with others' visions.
  • Source/Partnerships: zines, posters, craft and small-batch publications, specialty craft tools, work from creators whose values resonate with ours. We become a distribution channel for makers, and try to take-off the marketing burden off-of them however possible. Books and magazines (new and used), garden supplies and composting materials, craft materials and desk stationary, quality tools we trust and use ourselves.
  • Curated finds/collectibles: Maps, botanical prints and natural history ephemera, vintage tools and collectibles. Things that shouldn't end up in landfills but instead deserve new homes. We can further upcycle/restore these etc.

What We're Exploring
